Overall Project Timeline

The overall project is anticipated to require roughly a decade to complete, as funding becomes available. The first priority is to replace the portion of I-10 through Baton Rouge identified as Phase 1, which is prone to chronic traffic congestion.

Phase 1 Timeline

Phase 1 of the project is from west of Washington Street to the I-10 / I-12 Split. Work along this corridor through downtown Baton Rouge is divided into segments, and Segments 1, 2 and 3 will accomplish the improvements from the I-110 interchange eastward to a point west of College Drive. Future Segment 4 will complete improvements to the College Drive interchange and eastward to the I-10 / I-12 split. Another LADOTD project (No. H.013897) has already completed improvements at the I-10 / I-12 Split, replacing the exit to College Drive from eastbound I-10.
