Current Closures
Current lane closures described by the Contractor are as follows.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces lane closures as part of the I-10 Widening Project in East Baton Rouge Parish. Expect the following nightly full closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.
I-110 Southbound exit ramp to Mississippi River Bridge
- Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10
- Full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
I-10 Westbound Flyover to Mississippi River Bridge
- Sunday, May 10 to Monday, May 11
- Nightly full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

What should drivers anticipate in the near future?

- Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16
- Full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
I-10 Westbound Flyover to Mississippi River Bridge
- Saturday, May 16 to Monday, May 18
- Nightly full closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
General Guidance
- Work continues along I-10 westbound, west of Perkins Road where the new bridge over City Park Lake is being constructed.
- During the second quarter of 2026 the low-side widening of I-10 westbound over I-110 southbound is beginning. This process will last approximately one year.
- Temporary nighttime lane reductions will be necessary. And full closures will be required overnight on specific weekends when interstate traffic volumes are lowest. The public and media will be notified in advance.

La DOTD Services
Louisiana DOTD collects traffic data via sensors on many highways, including portions of I-10 through Baton Rouge. This traffic data is fed to DOTD services, including MyDOTD and Louisiana 511.

Provides real-time traffic updates for Baton Rouge via the “X” social media platform (formerly Twitter).
Information is available by phone. Motorists can access the latest updates on real-time traffic and road conditions using the 511 Traveler Information System by dialing 511 from their telephone and saying the route or region for which they are seeking information. Out-of-state travelers can call 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511).

Live Cameras
Louisiana DOTD maintains numerous traffic cameras monitoring the flow of traffic on state routes including I-10 through Baton Rouge.
Camera feeds can be easily filtered to your area of interest by selecting a roadway from the pull-down menu at the top of the page linked at the “CCTV Traffic Cameras” button. Feeds from these cameras are often displayed on local TV news broadcasts and are also viewable online as part of the 511 service.
