The project study area is the geographic area where data collection and analysis occurred in the environmental phases, before design and construction began. The project study area is now the project area for I10BR, defined as I-10 just west of LA 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish to the I-10 and I-12 split at Essen Lane in East Baton Rouge Parish. The Mississippi River Bridge structure is not included in the capacity improvements, as it is not feasible to widen the bridge through this area.
